Oscura e inquietante, con personajes llenos de maldad y perversión. Es lo que, para mí, mejor resume ‘Cumbres Borrascosas’. Me enfrenté a la obra maestra de Emily Brontë sin saber nada del argumento, tan solo que se trataba de una historia de amor. Y lo es. Pero no del tipo de amor que yo me esperaba. Wuthering Heights, wild and desolate, full of eerie winds, mysterious passions and ancient resentments. Heathcliff and Catherine a love so wild and turbulent. Bronte was ahead of her time spinning a tale of unspeakable violence and horror almost diabolical. True to its gothic genre with ghostly passions and a man so consumed by love, jealousy and revenge. I am not sure I can review this book. It is beyond a doubt one of my favorites. Don't get me wrong, Heathcliff and Cathy are horrible. The way they interact and treat one another is horrible. This is not a love story. Cathy is selfish, petty, haughty. Heathcliff is abusive and vengeful. The pair of them are not satisfied with torturing each other, they drag everyone around them, including their children, into the bleakness they create.

I don't care about Catherine.
I don't care about whether this is a love or ghost story.
