Shelves: rmfao, psychological-thriller, dark-fiction, rmfao-buddy-read, possible-true-life, difficult, triggering, well-written

Wow... a completely shocking, yet compelling read. Gave me a lot to mull over. The author beautifully put forth an alternate narrative on the whole ephebophilia concept with a deftness that found wonderfully surprising.

It was a difficult read and was way more triggering than I had initially expected, but the narrative flow was so good and powerful that it was difficult to put down despite the emotional turmoil that troubled me the whole time I read this book.

What to do here I am still thinking about the disturbing story even after finishing it many hours ago. This was a great debut and yes it's a difficult story to tell and as such very difficult to rate as well. But still here goes my rating and I shall then go ahead thinking more about the story and would read some non-fiction as a palate-cleanser-like thingie. I am glad to say though that the book is surely worth the hype and Vanessa stays in your mind long after you are done reading. So I would ...more
