Geez. Words can't even describe my feelings at the moment. I wish this would've been longer because I just want more Victor Faust! This book definitely made me see him in a new light. I think it brought up many topics that were placed in the back burner since book two, Reviving Izabel. I do wish that we would've gotten a bit more from the perspective of Fredrik, but I'm biased because he is the bae. I have to admit I miss being in his head and witnessing all of his fucked up thoughts. I also wan ...more

O-KAY, I know, I'm extremely late with this review!! I did not read as soon as it was released even though this book was my most anticipated installment of this year. I just did not have any courage to pick it up and read this book because I knew in heart that Behind the Hands That Kill (BHTK) would be a mind boggling and jaw-dropping which would in the end leave me miserable by the end of the day when I finished this book.

But, my curiosity was piqued, the BHTK group notification on goodreads wa O-KAY, I know, I'm extremely late with this review!! I did not read as soon as it was released even though this book was my most anticipated installment of this year. I just did not have any courage to pick it up and read this book because I knew in heart that Behind the Hands That Kill (BHTK) would be a mind boggling and jaw-dropping which would in the end leave me miserable by the end of the day when I finished this book.

But, my curiosity was piqued, the BHTK group notification on goodreads was endlessly appraising this book, this I couldn’t wait any longer. I decided to read this book on Saturday morning.
Wow... It astonished me that I waited approximately 6 month to prepare my heart. To be ready!
So yeah I READ THIS BOOK IN JUST ONE SITTING! I didn’t pause to eat or sleep; I only spared my time for pray! It was difficult to believe and yes it was so spot on.
Holy moly … for heaven’s sake ... This book matched my prediction. It blew me away and while I read the book I was enthralled by the sheer brilliance that was this book. This was my first time experiencing this feeling in which I didn’t know how to write a review without any spoilers.

The book Behind the Hands that Kill picked up right where The Black Wolf left off. Oh man... our cold, secretive, intense, calculating, emotionless and legit inhuman, the mighty Elite Ranking Assassin Victor Faust who was trained to be an assassin since he was a kid has fallen from his throne. Ha ha ha ha……….. I treasured this awakening of the new side of him so much. Although, I believe some of you felt this side of victor was odd because he has been a constant character since the first book. Not only him who changes but also our dearly Sarai, the fragile human being but full of survivor instinct became so impressive and dauntless. She finally became a full on badass in her own rite and fearless. I have no doubts she will be as mature as she is at the moment, but I never expected it to be this soon either.

Well, another thing that I treasured from this book is the back and forth plot from past to present. It made the book more intense and alluring in every possible way. I love Jessica's writing style in BHTK so much. Her writing style literally forced me to take a deep breath several time while I read. BHTK is now my second favorite from the installment after The Swan & the Jackal.

Gosh,, victor in flip-flops, I never imagined it !! Thank you JA Redmerski!!

Shelves: thoroughly-bad-badboy, kick-ass-heroine

It was just over waaay too soon. I wanted to keep reading, I wanted Mexico. Another great read in the series, but I wanted more from Izabel's pov, I think that's why I ended on 4*.
