”The past has shaped me, molded me into a monster. A monster with a persecuted heart and a dead soul.”

While the majority of fans were anxiously awaiting Fredrik’s book, I was on the fence about it. My apprehension had a lot to do with the sheer fact of what his story would include. Let’s face it, this guy gets off on interrogating people in his dentist chair and then proceeds to remove their teeth with pliers. For me, I wasn’t as taken with him as I was with Victor or even his hot pain in th

DNF at 48% but I still think everyone who’s interested in reading it should check it out for yourself. For me I was just fed up with all the cheesy moments when this book is supposed to be dark.

Anyways, I L-O-V-E-D the first two books in this series, and Reviving Izabel was a 6 star read for me. In those books, I already had a fine impression of Fredrik: cold-hearted assassin who has no fears, dark, blah blah, you get the picture. I did get a glimpse of a “what-could-of-been” with some chick nam

Disclaimer - > The Swan and the Jackal is NOT a romance book.

When I started The Swan and the Jackal I was upset by the disclaimer. I heard it was a dark read, but I had no idea what it was about. I love the series. I gave the previous books all five stars, so I was REALLY excited about this one.

You will either Love or Hate this book

The Swan and the Jackal is not for everyone. Whatever you thought about the series, don’t throw it out the window, but kno

“I couldn't kill her. She may have betrayed me and tried to kill me, but there was still a part of her that I didn't want to let go.”

The Swan and the Jackal is a dark, heartbreaking and unpredictable novel. It is my favorite in the series and I can't believe it took me 5 years to reread this book. I was able to to look at this novel from a different POV and look for clues because I know how it would end. I thought I was prepared for everything that would happen in this book but that was not the

Another great addition to the killers, this book definitely set itself apart from books 1 & 2 with it's somber and gritty mood. I wasn't expecting hearts and flowers but I was rooting for Frederick's peace. Although it wasn't a traditional ending I didn't see how it could have ended any other way. It was a bitter sweet ending and I'm still hopeful Frederick can be repaired in future books to come. ...more

It's been a long time since i've actually stayed up all night to finish a book! This one i couldn't stop reading until it became too intense, too dark and sad that i actually had to stop reading for a minute or so! This was definitely too much for my taste but i loved it all the same. Beautifully written and enforces so much feeling, sympathy and remorse that it pulled me right into the story♥ Although i hate sad endings, this was the only book with no happy ending that i actually agreed with an ...more

It took me awhile in finishing this, I don't know maybe I was just not in the mood to read when I picked it up or whatever. Not that I didn't like it, hell I gave it a 5 star rating. But maybe it's not the book but me kinda thing.

First of, I didn't like Cassia all that much at first (view spoiler) I find her too "good" for my taste, well for Fredrik's taste that is. But later on when I learned the truth about her, I understa

“One day, Victor Faust will be the death of you, Izabel,”he (Frederik) cuts in and I’m stunned by his words. He looks over, locking his eyes on mine. “If you want to help me, you can by keeping that in the back of your mind. One way or another, you’re going to die because of him, because you love him.”

Beautifully written where everything is so twisted about everyone but somehow in the end it all makes sense.

Very good read. Very well written and hard to put down. I honestly didn't see the "twist" in the story coming. Loved this book and loved Izabel and Victor back in the story. I will definitely be reading the next in this series. ...more
