This book was recommended to me since I am currently on a vampire kick, however Anita Blake the main character is an Animator and a vampire hunter. So my feelings were a little torn to begin with. I was waiting almost the whole book for the romantic part to begin...with anyone> she seems a little cold but since this is a very long series it is also a huge setup of characters. adored this series up to like book i 9 or 10 then it start to turn extremely smutty with like no plot. but the first bks were amazing. great stories and cases to solve with neat monsters.

Good on the action part and all, but too bad there isn't romance *pouting* though maybe if there was, it would've been a lot like Sookie Stackhouse series... ...more
