This was honestly probably one of my favorites in the series. I will warn before going any further that my spelling for some of the characters might be off because I am blind and have only read the audio book. Anyway now that that's out of the way, this was a great book!

This series is one of my favorites because it really has everything. It got suspence, fear, drama, love, vamps, mean girls, humor, intelegence and great description of places and characters.

This series is one of my favorites because it really has everything. It got suspence, fear, drama, love, vamps, mean girls, humor, intelegence and great description of places and characters.

One of the main reasons this is one of my faves is because of the mad scientist Mernin who is introduced. Once clair signs her life, blood and soul over to the founder of Morganville Amalee, she has to work for the scientist. She learns that the vampires all have a disease that will eventualy bring them to insanity at which point they will spend the remainder of their days locked in a cage in the dark to starve. Amalee needs her to work with Mernin to race for a cure for the disease that has already taken hold of some... including Mernin.

He is a sweet guy a lot of the time but when the crazy sets in the gloves come off and it's dinner time. This isn't appealing to Claire of course because this leaves her as the main course.

Michael her vampire housemate doesn't like the arrangment and he as along with his vamp grandfather Sam try with no result to convince Amalee to remove Claire from the project. Clair on the other hand finds working with Mernin to be a guilty pleasure once she was able to get over the fact taht he wanted to eat her. He was a brilliant man with so much to teach her and so little time.

Her love interst Shane is just as yummy in this book as he was in the last two. The two of them are getting closer and closer but shane is trying desperately to keep her at arms length. She isn't eighteen yet and he is, this makes Claire jail bate and he's not having none of that no matter how much he wants too. He is really falling for her in this book and wants to do things the right way.

I wont spoil the end, but there is a surprising twist that arises with Claire's family life and a new bad guy named Bishop comes to town. He's Amalee's father and he's not happy. He's looking for blood and power over his daughter and by assosiation all the residents of Morganville. ...more

As with the first two, this is a great read. Great chharacters, entertaining story line. Its a story that pulls you in and makes you want to read more.
