I absolutely LOVED LOVED LOVED this book!

My fear of snakes just went up a notch. Actually It has grown in leaps and bounds, after reading The Bridge Kingdom, to the point where I'll probably have nightmares tonight but I still really enjoyed reading this book.

As with any Danielle L Jensen you get superb fully fledged characters, an excellently plotted storyline, wholly immersive world-building, and some snarky humor.
The spy games in this left me constantly tense the entire time I read it, just waiting for the show to drop. And it inevitably did, and just wow. You definitely need the sequel on hand to hop right into next!

So, I liked this book. I didn’t give it a 5 start for the simple fact that is was a slow burn romance into an insta love kind of situation, and because I felt the plot or her “mission” was over iterated and that kind of annoyed me. But it was good and I’m very glad I read it to get to book two because book two was amazing!

This book was not bad. That's kinda the summary of it. While I did want too continue and find out what happened to the characters, this was no soul-crushing, chair-gripping read. As much as I wanted it to be, the story and the plot just were not five star material. I loved that Lara was strong and independent, and I loved Aaron too, but just something about the writing felt off. This read was definitely a stepping stone from a book-hangover read. If you're looking for simple and fast read to get

I cannot NOT love every Danielle Jensen book that I read. Not only she writes incredibly good , her books are “in my troupe”. Enemies to lovers plus a marriage for convenience? Gah! Take my money away! 😆
What I love about this book? The shortest answer: EVERYTHING!
The way it grabbed all my attention? I can’t put it down! Everything about it interest me. The world building? Check. I love all the details. It has all the elements of a good fantasy read. The danger, adventure , the tension, it’s all ...more

The Bridge Kingdom was referred to me in AKOFAF FB book group, as a cure to being in a book hangover. I have to say, this book DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The beginning pulls you in from the start and my first thought was "Dam, this girl is ruthless," no she did not just do that. I honestly read this in 4 hours, I could not put it down.
Highly recommended if you like SJM's Throne of Glass character Celaena Sardothien's bad assery.
