While I thought this was a pretty good, I found myself losing interest towards the end of the book. There were several characters in the book, but only one was captivating enough to hold my attention. I did want to know what happened to her, but the rest of them...not so much. I won't go out on a limb recommending this one, I'll just say it wasn't that bad, but nowhere near excellent. ...more

I didn't like this book until I was about 2/3 through when I stopped thinking how dark it was and how troubled the characters were and began realizing how their stories were related. Then those same characters started to draw me in to their stories and I was hooked.

Brenda says she is loving this book, and I'm glad she pointed it out (I hope she'll post a review when she finishes it!). I recall reading something about this novel, and thinking that it sounded like a good read - it's based on various reactions to Philippe Petit's tight rope walking of the Twin Towers in 1974. I watched the film documentary "Man on Wire," the 2008 Academy Award-winning documentary --I found it completely captivating and thrilling, and would recommend it to anyone. A significan ...more

This book was very good. The author really brought the characters to life. You realy felt like you were back in 1974 New York with them! You could feel all there emotions. I highly recommend this book.

This is our September Book Group Book...
Even tho this book seemed disjointed to the group several rated it very highly. Interesting story with an interesting discussion.
