I won't attempt to describe this novel as others have done a more than adequate job. I did love the flashing back and forth between current day of Margaret Lea interviewing Vida Winters for the biography to flashing back and Vida Winters telling the story of her youth.

I listened to this book on audio and really enjoyed the story. It really should get 4 1/2 stars and I may end up re-rating it to a 5 star book when I reflect over all the books I have read this year. The story had two "readers" one for each of the main characters.
The book is about the life of a biographer and a well known writer. The writer wants to tell her life story before she dies and chooses the biographer on instinct. They have separate stories that unfold throughout the book.
