Tiger's Destiny (The Tiger Saga, #4) in Ask Colleen Houck

I really didn't think I would, but I really enjoyed Tiger's Destiny. The mythology was (mostly) correct, and the love triangle was ABSURD (I'll explain why soon enough), but the adventure was compelling. For once, it wasn't adventure-chilloutathome-adventure. It was full on, Rope of Fire--->fight Lokesh (maybe it's a spoiler but come on, we all knew it was going to happen) without any interruptions.

All right. Before I chew Colleen Houck out on the complexity of the triangle, let's touch on the I really didn't think I would, but I really enjoyed Tiger's Destiny. All right. Before I chew Colleen Houck out on the complexity of the triangle, let's touch on the good points about this book.
-Colleen Houck touches on things talked about in past books and ties up the story well. (Which leaves me thinking, the heck is going to happen in Tiger's Dream? Well, that's up to her I guess.)
-There is an element of realism. There is something to FIGHT FOR except for Kelsey's desperate love feelings. I'm not going to tell you what it was, but SOMETHING HAPPENS that tugs at your emotions. Because honestly, after a while, the love triangle gets a little old. I mean, it's cute in the beginning, but seriously Kelsey, pick a guy.

-Finally, it's dramatic. There's the fight with Lokesh, and his pursuit of her even as they search for their magical item, and the anticipation of the final showdown, and HOW THE HECK KELSEY IS GOING TO DEFEAT THE PSYCHO, and yeah.
I hope you enjoyed the positive part of this review. Now, why did I give it four stars...

Well, first of all, Kelsey is HORRIBLE at the love triangle thing. We ALL know who she's going to pick in the end even though she still remains "connected" to the other guy... I mean come on? Who has it ALWAYS been?
It irritates me how Kelsey can hug one guy and declare she loves him while the other one watches and still run back to the other guy, waiting for him to kiss her. I mean... it's pretty obvious she's just building it up waiting to break one of the boys' hearts.
Kelsey, if you really care about both of them, do eenie meenie meinie moe or something. Stop letting them swoop in to save you, hearts bleeding for you, and leave them hanging. Ren is DYING because of what happened in Tiger's Voyage and so... jeez.

The worst part? Kelsey still thinks she's "not good enough for him." She thinks she doesn't deserve either of the boys when obviously they're head over heels in love with her.

I will tell you that Kelsey picks at the end of the book, and the final romantic break at the end is pretty final... while reading the part though, it was pretty obvious what would happen.

I hope you enjoyed my maniacal rant, everyone. All in all, this WAS an entertaining book, and I would recommend the series to my friends. :)

Thank you for making me like Kelsey again! Her decisions irked me in the previous books and I just wanted to shake her. So happy the phoenix helped me to realize why she was her own worse enemy when it came to her love life.
