A very inventive fantasy. Is TJ Klune British? Because this book has a very Monty Python or Harry Potter feel to it. It also at one point reminded me of a scene in The Producers.

This is a book with diversity and outcast characters learning to embrace their identity (whatever that is). I really loved it. (Could it be a film, please? Maybe a musical?) I really recommend this book. It's great fun.

What wonderful characters! Not only a love story, but also “journey of discovery” I think. 💕. A friend described as a “warm hug” in book form! Agreed!

Linus Baker is a 40 something complacent case manager for DICOMY that overlooks the care of orphaned magical youth. He is asked by Extremely Upper Management to take on a special assignment and check on the welfare of the children of Marsyas Island. These children are not just magical youth but a special type of magical that the world has never seen. There is Talia the garden gnome, Theodore the wyvern, Phee a forest sprite
