4.5★'s Rounded Up, Up, UP!
OH MY GOD I LOVED THIS BOOK!!

And truthfully? I almost didn’t read it.
I did not like the first book in the series, Game Changer at all. And because of that I just didn’t see the need to read the next one if it was going to follow the same path. But I was assured by one of my most trusted it was different and I should definitely give it a shot (haha). OH MY GOD! If I had missed out on this story I just don’t even know. I am so glad I didn’t. I have to admit, I avoided adding this book to my TBR because of the cover. I'm sorry I judged you.
I loved it, I couldn't go to sleep until I finished it. Not sure how I feel about the ending, it's kind of refreshing how it's not all 'hey we gay and we love each other' and everybody accept them. I know what's happening in the next book about them so it's a nice change.
I loved Shane (and his overthinking, I loved their banter and I LOVED ILYA. 🥹
Yes there's some negative point but for once, let

2025 We are getting a series/movie and I had to re listen to the audiobook
2023 The audiobook killed and resurrected me.
Me re reading this in 2022 and fangirling just as hard as the first time.
“Was it me tonight?”
“Was what you?”
“Distracting you. On the ice tonight.”
It took Shane a moment to realize what he was suggesting.
“Fuck. You.”
Did I just inhale this book in a span of a day. OMG this was so good. This is the one.
Heated Rivalry, Him and The Understatement of the Year. This was the missing ...more

Not sure how I only rated this 4 stars back in 2021 when I read for the first time, but upping my rating to the full 5 stars this excellent book deserves.
Heated Rivalry is the ultimate enemies-to-lovers book. Its past-present dual POV is seamlessly done and in Shane and Ilya, readers have two flawed, but endearing heroes.
Full of well-written hockey scenes (Rachel Reid remains top of the MM hockey genre in terms of writing interesting hockey scenes that are relevant to the plot/characters and re ...more
