5 "Burn bright, little star." Stars!!

Wow! I loved this book! It took me by surprise. I was not expecting this angsty, complicated, beautiful story. Sophia was more than I was expecting and Dakota was ultimately just fantastic. This one was all about family but finding out and being true to who you are. This was a great conclusion to the Lark Cove series. Happy reading! ...more

On a scale of one to ten, Sophia was big twenty when it came to me not liking her in book one. But I was intrigued enough to at least give Tinsel a try. I read the sample and Sophia was exactly what I expected her to be a spoilt princess who is gaudy, shallow and hasn't worked a day in her life. However I also saw something in Sophia that in the end gave me that nudge to read her book.

Tinsel is the perfect ending to this amazing series. Devney Perry has a talent for drawing a reader into a world with seamless effort. Her masterful writing and storytelling not only brings the story to you but holds you hostage begging for more.

If you’ve read Tattered, you know Sofia Kendrick... and like me, you came into this book hating her.
In Tinsel, you get to see a glimpse of why she is the way she is. You see her background. You see her.
It isn’t until a very public, unfortunate incident sends her running to Lark Cove, Montana and into a situation that she’s unfamiliar with that she discovers who she really is and where she belongs... and who she belongs with.

Scandal…..it’s the driving force in Sophia Kendrick’s life. Even if the intent wasn’t to cause drama, the trickledown effect always ends up revealing another cause for tabloid fodder. The latest unveiling came after an interview sheds Sofia’s life in a not so flattering way. A sensational scandal that once again pulled Sophia’s family into the spotlight right along with the Princess of New York. With ridicule oozing from the article, Sophia decides to seek solitude in the one place she can escap Scandal…..it’s the driving force in Sophia Kendrick’s life. Even if the intent wasn’t to cause drama, the trickledown effect always ends up revealing another cause for tabloid fodder. The latest unveiling came after an interview sheds Sofia’s life in a not so flattering way. A sensational scandal that once again pulled Sophia’s family into the spotlight right along with the Princess of New York. With ridicule oozing from the article, Sophia decides to seek solitude in the one place she can escape judgment.

Heading to Lark Cove, Montana seems like the perfect solution to escape the judgment from the article that haunts Sophia. After all – Logan and Thea have always shown Sophia nothing but kindness. What Sophia didn’t realize is Thea was devising a plan of her own; a way to instill a little bit of confidence inside the girl that only wanted to please those around her. Determined to show Sophia that she ‘matters’, Thea hatches a plan that will leave the unemployed heiress responsible for the bar that Thea holds near and dear to her heart.

In spite of never working a day in her life, Sophie tackles the job of looking after Thea’s bar with determination. One of the people that is guiding Sophia through this ordeal is Dakota. Even though his temper flares at time, Dakota tries to show Sophia the ins and outs of running the bar. What neither counted on was the instant attraction that they would feel. Tinsel is the latest book in the Lark Cove series by Devney Perry. It follows the youngest sibling to Logan Kendrick, and the most spoiled Kendrick of the bunch. With two divorces under her belt, a poor attitude at times, and a string of bad choices – Sophia isn’t exactly the picture perfect idea of a character that knows how to make commitments. Dakota adds his own drama to the mix as a son that doesn’t want to live his life dictated by tradition. Both are swimming in a sea of uncertainty, and seem to be drawn deeply to the other.

A string of uncertainty will lead these two broken souls on a journey that will take them across the states to uncover what it is that drives their hearts. The reality of just how difficult each of the milestones the other reaches will transpire across the pages in a way that leaves you longing a perfect love. Dakota and Sophia know that their lives are just too different to make a relationship work. Just don’t tell that to their heart, which is breaking further by the day.

Devney Perry always writes about the most amazing characters. Every time she pens about love, it is with the realization that no love story is perfect. The journey to finding ‘the one’ is what it is all about!! I think Sophia was the most unexpected character out of the entire series, and her story is one that you don’t want to miss!! Make sure you dive into the latest journey to Lark Cove…..you can thank me later!!
