Mac’s enemies are increasing and her chances of surviving are slim. She needs to take all players into consideration and she isn’t doing it.

I love Mac, she is one of the best heroines in a very long time. She is strong, full of hope and does what she thinks is right and not what everyone else wants her to do.

It was time to come back to this series and I loved every moment. Okay not every moment. There was an icky situation but you know life and death and all that jazz.

The most important question

Who is Jericho Z Barrons? What I can say so far is that he has saved Mac’s arse on several occasions and that he is mysterious, full of surprises, ruthless and totally hot. I frigging love him. He is everything I love in a Hero or Anti-Hero

V’lane the prince of the Light Seelie Court has actually grown on me. He at least tries to understand what Mac is trying to tell him.

“Why have you chosen to spare me?” “I want us to be… what is your word? Friends” “Psychotic rapists don’t have friends.” “I was unaware you were a psychotic rapist or I would have not have offered.” “Ha.”

A new player to watch out for is Rowena from the sidhe-seers you could call her a leader but she turned Mac away twice so it is not wise to trust them about from Dani the little spitfire.

The plot is one of the best in the paranormal series that I have experienced in a long time. I love KMM writing style. It just flows well. It keeps you interested and I didn’t want to put this book down at all. I’m not a fan of fae paranormal books but this works for me on all levels. I can’t gush enough about this series. I recommend it.

Book #2 was good, like book #1. I like Mac, like how she's evolving. Although she doesn't always get things right, she's learning and I like that about her.

I am invested in the story now and will definitely continue the series. If nothing else, I want to know more about Barrons and his history. ...more
