I could be damning this book with faint praise, but... not bad, not bad! The first book was atrociously repellant: the mc was vapid and cocky and omg, I hated her. She's still exceedingly annoying in this second volume, what with her cocky stupidity, but I liked her a bit, and she was more approachable and vulnerable beneath her veneer of gaggy special snowflake valley girl.
