I absolutely LOVED Unexpected Fate by Harper Sloan!! Ok, I will be completely honest and say that this was my first book that I have read from Harper Sloan. I know I must be crazy for not reading her previous books from the Corps Security series but don’t worry after reading Unexpected Fate, I am bonafide Harper Sloan fan and will be reading all her books now.

So I love this book hard! It was sexy, sweet and most of all FUNNY! Axel is hysterical! I couldn't stop laughing at his antics. He was the ultimate protective father in this but he wasn't the story so let's get to that.
Dani Reid is the daughter of Axel and Izzy. Cohen Cage is the son of Greg and Melissa. He was Melissa's sister's son but she got custody after her sister died. You don't have to read the previous books in this series but I really recommend it. Why? First, they are really good - li ...more

Despite being disappointed with the last book in the Corps Security series, I was still excited to read this spin-off series centred around their children.
This is the story of Cohen (Cage's son) and Dani (Axel's daughter). The two have grown up together and are the bestest of best friends, even though they have feelings for each other that go beyond that of friends. Dani has not really hidden how she feels about Cohen, but as years of seemingly unrequited lov ...more

4.5 stars!! I love this author and the CS series so I was all over this one. Cohen Cage did not disappoint! It had everything I look for in a book to make me want to sink my teeth into and go along for the ride. This one didn't have a ton of angst, there were more suspenseful aspects to it. I really enjoyed Cohen and Dani's story!!

This is a spin-off of the Corps Security series. It may be read as a standalone, but I suggest reading the Corps Series. All the characters we fell in love with are in this book. Knowing the guys and gals from Corps helps to understand Cohen and Dani's relationship. The main characters are the children of our beloved Corps family.
Dani is Axel Reid's baby girl, at least she will always be his little girl to him. Dani is all grown up now. How does the alpha man, Axel deal with it?
