I should preface this by saying I generally adore Victorian era science fiction and HG Wells is one of the very best. (I also adore Jules Verne and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and even a little Lovecraft). I am most certainly Steampunk. It makes the little cogs and gears of my clockwork heart just tick tock away! And tend to prefer science fiction that was written in Victorian times to Steampunk themed modern books (though there are some certainly marvelous books under that category as well).
