I am not sure how to rate this book. The thing is I expected more since this is Lauren Oliver we are talking about, one of my fav authors. While her writing style still remains as beautiful and engaging as alway, the characters were the weakness of this book. I felt through the entire book that I didn't know them at all. Meh. Not great. Pretty pointless. Way too long.
I really loved the plot of this book - it was something that when written in one sentence seemed as though it wouldn't be realistic and would be stupid and idiotic, but actually it was so believable. It was as though Panic was the only thing these kids had and they weren't fighting for money but a way out, a better life and future. More like 3.5 stars. I enjoyed this book but it was fairly predictable. There would be something introduced to the story and I would automatically know what was going to happen. Then it would happen and I would be slightly underwhelmed by it. But, it was a quick read and I enjoyed the writing style. This is the first book I've read of Oliver's and I'm sure I will finally go pick Delirium up off my shelf soon now :)
