I read Ms. Ng’s first novel. As much as I liked the writing, the story didn’t resonate with me. After hearing the buzz on this one, I thought I would try it again. And, I am very glad I did. The writing is even better than before. The character development was very well done. The first part was slow but then I was hooked as I read the backstory on Mia. I felt there might have been elements of her in the author’s own character. I would have liked just a bit more closure on one of the characters b
