The title was intriguing and this book was in my radar for a few months, when it got selected as BOTM for Indian readers, and I utilized the opportunity.
The beginning was intriguing , but into a few pages, I started feeling that it is just another YA, which I may probably give 2 or 3 stars to.. at the end. But soon, I got entangled in the lives of the citizens of Shaker Heights, the established ones as well as the new.. and a well crafted story unfolded.

I love books about mothers and daughters. The relationship aspect of it is endlessly fascinating to me, not only because of my own relationship with my mother, but because I have a daughter.
I cannot explain why this book was so difficult to read. It wasn't the jumping back and forth, that usually holds my interest. It wasn't the teenage angst...I can relate, I was a teen once.

A well-written book about the complexities of motherhood, parenting, and the existential question of the paths not taken. How much of life can be planned? How do we know when a decision is the right one? What does it mean to be a mother or a parent? A great portrayal of the frustrations of finding ourselves out of sync with those around us. This very rarely happens. I did not like the audio of this book so much that I couldn’t finish it. I don’t get the fuss about this book. I would give it half a star if I could.It
