Tiny slivers of life - they all added up and helped you to feel that you too could be a fragment, a little piece of humanity who usefully filled a space, however miniscule.
This made me find joy in reading books again.
While Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine is repeatedly described as “hilarious”, I feel “uplifting” would be a more appropriate word. I adore the way Eleanor illustrates everyday things for the reader-from bikini waxes to McDonald’s-but under the surface, she’s suffering. She’ ...more

This is a hard book to review. It tells the story of a lonely woman , Eleanor, who has been very badly miss treated as a child (that’s a gross understatement). It’s the story of how she came to terms with what her life had been and what it might be. While the book is ends on a hopeful note it certainly has parts that I found gut wrenching, heartbreaking, in some cases probably a little too close to home. I really liked getting to know Eleanor. Her character was so real to me. I know there is a lot to her background, however I still think she is on the spectrum of Autism. Maybe it’s just me. Lol. I fell for Raymond too. Very well done and kept my interest from beginning to end. I think Eleanor will stay with me for a while.
