I’m a little mixed on this review as the story is so interesting and I love the dynamics of it. However I had an issue with the hyperbolic use of description throughout. There’s only so many EXPLOSIONS of feeling and CRUSHING and DEVASTATING emotions and pain and feelings that I can take. When such big descriptions are used they eventually become cheapened and less effective. Aside from that, Inaan’s hopping from antagonist to supporter started to be a little tiring. Definitely won't be a popular opinion but after reading a little more than 200 pages, I just couldn't do it anymore. For some reason, I did not enjoy the world she crafted in this book and it was really hard for me to read. Usually, I will just keep trying, but I was at the point that I didn't want to read at all... Having just come out of a reading slump, I didn't want to go back.

This book wasn't for me, but I'm definitely in the minority. ...more
