This book was so good! I found it adorable and had some really funny parts. It is a real feel good read. I have been wanting to read it for awhile and now I just have to go see the movie. These characters are so great to read about. It was quick and I’d like to read more on these characters.

My quick and simple overall: fun and quick. A great book to make you smile.

Practically perfect in every way. The story and characters were so adorable, and I LOVE EVERY MOMENT.

This was a cute story about 16-year-old high school student Simon Spier who has only confided in one other person at his school about being gay. That person is an email penpal who Simon only knows as Blue. Things get troubling when someone finds out Simon's secret emails with Blue and decides to blackmail Simon. The story then continues to focus on Simon as he navigates high school and the school play and comes to terms with coming out and maybe even meeting Blue who he thinks he may just love. ...more

I have been sitting here writing and deleting my review, because I am having a hard time making sense of how I feel about this book. Well, that's not exactly true. I know how I feel, but am having a problem articulating it.

I know that I enjoyed this book very much. It wasn't a 5 star for me, but that was only because I thought that the coming out would have had more conflict (if that makes sense). It just seemed to good to be true that all family and friends were so supportive.

Don't get me wro

OMG, this is my new favorite book! So amazingly real, and it resonated so well with me. I was super excited to find it was set in Atlanta so that made things even more appealing, including that it was the area I live in. That moment when things came together I was crying happy tears like it was real. Definitely going to be a book I’ll read again and again.

This is quite cute and I enjoy reading it. I admit that I was more interested in Blue than Simon. Simon's a little whiny for me. ...more

To be fair, I'm definitely not in this book's demographic so I know I can be a bit harsh on the plot points that were convenient or contrived. That being said, I really liked the way the author and the story called out prejudices of different sorts. I have mad respect for an author who makes me think, "Ooh, you knew better than to make that assumption/hold that stereotype" when I think I'm just going to be reading a fluffy YA romance. Good job, Albertalli.

(And as a psychologist myself, Simon's

I really loved this book! I love how the romance began through email. The way Simon developed throughout the book, with real life bullying that does occur in today's world. The emails were amazing and I actually wished there were more of them. I did guess early on who Blue really was and laughed to myself when he finally showed himself to Simon and asked if he really didn't guess it was him. I'm like hellloooo I knew with the few clues I had how could you not Simon! Definitely one that I would r ...more

This book was a quick read. It was pretty fluffy. I didn’t love love love it like so many others, but I enjoyed it and the majority of characters. Everything about Simon coming out seemed to go a little to easy for me, but I was routing for him every step of the way!
