This was a screening read for my daughter. It was very sweet. I love the idea of getting do-overs until you get things right. I think it was spot on for middle-grade readers. Nothing too advanced and yet there were some pretty honest parts about how one's choices can impact others. No wonder this seems to be on all of the recommended lists.

A sort of "Ground Hog's Day" story about a birthday that never ends. In typical fashion of the time repeat storyline you have the shock and disbelief turning into actions without consequences and from there into a spate of do-goodism rounding out to a satisfying conclusion and time marching on. I'm giving this one a 3.5 because I liked the characters, but it feels like there was a huge lack of anything really original here.
