What Members Thought

Although I read this years ago, I broke it out again because of it being a /r/Fantasy BotM pick. I had forgotten many of the details, but thoroughly enjoyed it the second time around. (A sign of a good book). I'm a character drive person, and the characters in this book were all quite good even if the Parks was a little sterotypical. I loved this book but once again murky science in a science fiction post-apocalyptic book was my biggest pet peeve!! Dr Caldwell really needed to take a step back and realize what she was doing for the past 20 years was a giant waste of time and maybe she should have started looking into behavioral types of sciences to deal with the kids, or gene splicing or something, dang!

I only gave this book 3 stars because honestly books about Zombies aren't usually my type. I read this book to fulfill a challenge for the month of October. I did enjoyed this book. It wasn't filled with gore from the first page to the last. So not the typical zombie book. This was a good book and well worth the time I spent listening to it.

This book was so dang good. I had no idea what it was about when I started it. But I was sucked in by the characters and the raw humanity of them. I loved it. The only thing I didn't like was how much profanity there was. Still, it's an intensely emotional dystopian like you've never read before.

These zombie stories don't show any sign of letting up. They keep coming and coming and this one delivers more than its quota of thrills along the way. It manages to thread a fine line between the unforgiving "rules" of zombie lore while working a small patch of humanity into an imaginary being halfway along the spectrum between human and zombie.
