No dia em que a série saiu na Netflix, não resisti em ver o primeiro o episódio, mas apercebi-me de que ia gostar de ler o livro primeiro. Então foi o que fiz...

Apesar de toda a controvérsia gerada em volta deste livro, sou uma das pessoas que o adorou.
Depois de ler “13 anos para sempre, Marion” fiquei a conhecer muito melhor este tema — o Bullying. É sempre um tema muito difícil e que gera muita discussão... na verdade, penso que não se fala o suficiente sobre isso.

Depois de ler “13 anos para sempre, Marion” fiquei a conhecer muito melhor este tema — o Bullying. É sempre um tema muito difícil e que gera muita discussão... na verdade, penso que não se fala o suficiente sobre isso.

Este livro fez-me perceber, mais uma vez, que é muito complicado identificar os indícios que levam uma pessoa a acabar com a sua vida. Todos temos momentos maus, e aquilo que penso quando vejo alguém mal-humorado é que essa pessoa está, simplesmente, a passar por um período mau... por vezes pode não ser bem assim... mas como saber quando interferir?
O concelho que tenho é pedirem ajuda profissional. Eu, sinceramente, posso não conseguir ajudar essa pessoa, seja um amigo ou não.

Principalmente nestas idades, entre os 13 e os 17 anos, os rapazes e raparigas têm tendência a fechar-se muito nas suas vidas. Já ouvi comentar nas redes sociais, que “Por 13 razões” é um livro que transmite muito pouca esperança para quem enfrenta situações complicadas. Eu por outro lado, acho que o livro é muito realista. As pessoas (neste caso os estudantes) estão tão embrenhados nas suas próprias vidas, que não se apercebem do que se passa na mente dos outros. Hannah é uma rapariga que podia muito facilmente ser uma colega vossa. Todas as coisas más que lhe acontecem passam despercebidas aos olhos dos outros. Porquê? É fácil dizer que “se fosse eu, tinha ajudado” ou “se fosse eu, tinha interferido”, mas a verdade é que a maior parte de nós é como Clay.

Clay...senti tanta compaixão por esta personagem... Ele ouve as cassetes e sente-se impotente... quando podia ter feito alguma coisa, não teve coragem suficiente para agir.

Houve algo nesta história que não bateu muito certo para mim. Penso que os acontecimentos são demasiados exagerados. Quando pensamos que a Hannah já sofreu o suficiente, acontecia sempre algo a seguir...
A ideia de que os colegas são injustos para ela é percetível logo de início, não há grande necessidade de exagerar...

O fim — sem dizer spoilers — achei que foi um reforço de como este livro pode ser uma boa influência para toda a gente.

Classificação: 4.5/5 estrelas.

I knew about the controversy surrounding this book and the TV series before I started reading the book so I just was curious and wanted to find out what the fuss is all about. Finished this book in 1 day and it was a fast read for me because I just couldn't wait to find out who did what to Hannah. Upon finishing this book I had mixed feelings about it. Part of me felt sorry for what Hannah went through and part of me felt like some issues seems too petty for her to consider it as a reason why sh I knew about the controversy surrounding this book and the TV series before I started reading the book so I just was curious and wanted to find out what the fuss is all about. Finished this book in 1 day and it was a fast read for me because I just couldn't wait to find out who did what to Hannah. Upon finishing this book I had mixed feelings about it. Part of me felt sorry for what Hannah went through and part of me felt like some issues seems too petty for her to consider it as a reason why she committed suicide like when Jessica stopped hanging out with her (although I do agree that the slapping incident was unnecessary on Jessica's part-I would have slapped her back...). Some of the things that happened to Hannah was her own doing like the hot tub scene. How can she be so stupid to go there after knowing what Bryce did?! Maybe she was already too depressed to think straight? I understand how sometimes all bad things happen at once at the same time and it can be very depressing but you can't blame anyone else if you put yourself in a dangerous situation knowing full well that something bad will definitely happen. I feel bad for Clay because he kept saying he should have done more but what more can he do if she has already set up her mind and pushed him away and wouldn't listen to him? I'm just thinking that Hannah has mental issues which the book did not address and it made it seem like it's a straightforward case of Hannah gets bullied so she committed suicide.

On the other hand, I'm glad that this book gave me something to think about regarding bullying as well. If only people were being taught to be more kind and nice towards others, the issue of bullying might not be as bad as what I'm reading and listening on a daily basis. It all starts with good parenting and how kids are being brought up. So many times I've read about bullying in real life recently that it just makes me sick to my stomach. So I think regardless of people's dislike towards this book, it actually made me think more about bullying and mental issues. ...more

Once I caught onto the format for Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher, which is told through two narrators (Hannah and Clay) throughout, I found the first two thirds of it rather tedious and boring but it got better. The last third was the best part and I propelled through it quickly. It was formerly called, Baker's Dozen: The Autobiography of Hannah Baker. 2018 version: This book is dangerous, and Jay Asher is an abuser, so no thanks.

This book had me pulled in from the very first page. I only picked it up to pass the time for a few minutes, but I wound up finishing it in 2 days. The story unraveled like a mystery novel and I became immediately invested in the characters and their problems.

Great for an audiobook since Clay is listening to the tapes Hannah is speaking on to tell her reasons for suicide. I don't know if I had read the book if it would have been quite as interesting. ...more
