Poirot's 2nd mystery, where he and Hastings are summoned by a wealthy businessman ,only to find the man already dead under mysterious circumstances. The usual red herrings are there. His wife, supposed mistress, her daughter, his son and his sweethearts, the chauffeur, the maids -all contribute to the melee of suspects. An interesting read. Such a huge roller coaster ride. The only thing that annoyed me was Hastings. Man he's so annoying and stupid! How can you be so stupid to allow an outsider to step into a murder scene! Careless and stupid. How Poirot can tolerate him I really don't know!
