Any book that makes me feel this much just... I can't even describe it. It reminded almost of a Jonathan Safran Foer book, with stories from the past blending into chapters from the present. Everything was shown kind of scrambled with parts being revealed before their chronological occurrence, and then later fully explained. I really liked it. I really wish that it was longer. It ended in a place where I really just wanted to know so much more about Leisl and her life and everything she did afte

I have to admit, at the beginning I was like meh another Holocaust book. But because of all the rave reviews I'd heard I decided to continue reading. And OH MAN OH MAN am I glad I did. This book was profound and dynamic in so many ways. There is such beauty in the devastation that surrounds this novel that it is well worth the read.

This book was hard for me to get into. I felt it was disjointed and didn’t hold my attention. Until that very last chapter where I was almost in tears.
