My favorite thing about this series aside from the adventures Harry and the gang always end up in, is the growth: of the friendshp they share and of them as wizards/witches.
I read this as a buddy read so most of what I had to say is there, but I will say that I always find myself laughing more at their antics than I did watching the movies. Plus it's been so long since I watched (and it probably wouldn't matter since the books or more detailed) that I feel like I am rediscovering an old friend. ...more

Loved the second of the series too. Harry Potter along with his friends Ron and Hermione embark on great adventures in their second year of wizadry school and emerge out unscathed at the end. Lord Voldemort is again vanquished, but I know he will again haunt them. Am starting on the third book now.
Are romance interests spurting here - Ron and Hermione (unlike poles attract) and Harry and Ginny - but these are just kids!
