I've only just read this. Have I been hiding under a rock? No. I enjoyed the films and I just read this to my 9 year old daughter. The thing is, when this came out it was the perfect time for me to NOT read it. It first came out in 1997. At the time I was twenty and wasn't really reading much. I was spending most of my time smoking cigarettes, drinking and rocking out with our band - 'The Liability Crisis'. At that time I probably ONLY read Terry Pratchett. Well, I read this to my daughter a long time ago. She actually owns it in paperback and as the big illustrated edition. It's funny how time flies though isn't it? I've just recently finished reading it to my younger one! He's 7 and he got so impatient for the ending he read the last chapter himself, foregoing my 'apparently' excellent voices...

I have to say first off, I’m 63 years old and a long time Harry Potter fan. I decided to buy this based on others reviews, thank you all, and I am so happy I bought it.

It is so gorgeous!! The illustrations, and animation are just breathtaking. I must admit I grinned like a total loon while reading this. Kept telling my 21 year old son, who loves Harry Potter, to come look. 😊 I’ve read the book when it came out originally and read it over the years again. I finally did it!

It only took years , but I finally started the Potter series. What can be said about such a beloved series that has not already been said. Enjoyable through and through. I am an adult but it made no difference. Engaging and fun, poignant and moving. On to the next!
