This is the book that was chosen as the 2016 genre group read. March - Mystery.

5 stars

Very good book. Little weird. Tom was very bad. Liked Rachel and some of the others. Mystery books are always good.

Happy Easter everyone!!!

The narrator, Rachel, is a divorced alcoholic who's taken to riding the train back and forth into London to maintain the illusion of a job. She creates a fantasy couple - Jess and Jason - based on just what she sees of their life from the train. "There's something comforting about the sight of strangers safe at home." But there's more to this than meets the eye - Rachel's ex-husband and his new wife and baby live just down the street from "Jess and Jason" and Rachel spies Jess in an intimate mom ...more

For me it was a big Meh! I like watching thrillers and mysteries, but reading them always leaves me feeling blah! It was a good book just not MY cup-of-tea.

Suspense at its best!

I loved the twists and turns in this one! You only know what the author wanted you to know, when she wanted to reveal it. It kept me guessing all the way through. The first 30% through was a bit confusing from the different point of views, but once I got to know the characters, I was unable to put this one down. Being inside the heads of these three women, really made you think. I love books that keep you guessing till the end. Great book for a book club discussion.

I think this is a pretty good book. It does a good job keeping you guessing who the culprit is. I think it might benefit from being a little shorter though. It didn't completely resolve all the issues in the book. It leaves the reader wondering whether or not the killer who got it in the end was reported to the police. It doesn't actually state that the killer did so you can either assume the killer did or not. That left me a little frustrated especially since there needed to be some closure sin ...more
