Paula Hawkins begins the story slowly like a train leaving the station, but the momentum increases as the story progresses; until the reader completes the story and reaches the home station. The story contains many twists and turns, and Hawkins does an incredible job of hiding the killer and the reason. I listened to the audiobook version and was enthralled with the reading. I needed a somewhat creepy (but not terrifying) October read, and on a whim picked up the audiobook on my library Overdrive app. I'm glad I did--the high-quality narration and constant tension held my interest, and I got a lot more leaves raked this week than expected because I had difficulty putting it down.
