This book was fantastic! Recommended to me by a friend and read nearly the same time by another, this is a very fast read that sucks you into the story line. Every scene is detailed and the characters are well developed. This is a book that I can see myself reading over and over again.

Very, very engaging book. For anyone who loves animals some portions are difficult to read. Additionally parts of the story are told from the viewpoint of an old man and are quite thought-provoking about our elders and how they really feel. The story is very absorbing as are the characters; while I didn't have particularly strong feelings about Marlena (although I was proud of her taking a stand) I was rooting for Jacob all the way. ...more
