What Members Thought
Just read this a second time for book club (first time was in 2006 when it was released). Though I'd forgotten most of the details of the book, I found it equally enjoyable the second time around -- solid writing, good story-telling, and interesting details and research into what train circuses were like. If you're an animal lover, some of the brutality is hard to take, but it's still worth the read.

I'm not sure why I waited so long to read this. This book is incredibly well written and so engrossing. The only thing preventing me from reading it in one sitting was work and sleep.
I love how the ending is not what you think. I loved reading about the circus and the time era. My favorite characters are Rosie and Walter. Ienjoyed reading about the dark side behind the circus.
