4.5 stars, rounded up. What an incredible story of survival and human solidarity.
I had to take off that half star because of Mark's characterization. He was so damn cheerful, all the way through the book. This was great fun, and his humor, to me was amazing, but he was stuck, on Mars, for over a year. There had to be some psychological trauma, depression, something, but there just wasn't enough of that to be 100% believable to me.

Oh man, this was so average. The endless talk about physics and reactions of elements and whatever may be interesting for someone, that can somewhat understand what the protagonist is talking about. For me it was boring and honestly, he could have told me anything without me having any idea if it was legit or not, since I am not an engineer and neither a botanist. The pacing was ok, it was not painful to read.

It was awesome! The characters were interesting and the story kept me at the edge of my seat. I loved it.
