What Members Thought

3.5 stars. The writing is really good and imaginative and I can certainly see why lovers of epic fantasy hold this in such high regard. It is interesting and creative. But the characters are all a bit of a blur and though there was a lot going on I just didn't care enough to really be pumped up into the higher ratings. Enjoyable? Sure. Will it warrant a reread? Probably not. But I will be continuing on and I will read The Fellowship of the Ring, so clearly it was still worth my time and I can fi

No Logo is taking me forever, interspersed with small amounts of the women travel anthology. I tried three times to read the Hobbit and never got more than 100 pgs through it. Don't know why really."

The Hobbit was a great and enjoyable read, I felt some parts were rushed but that's probably coming in to reading it with a head full of the films and the LOTR's books compared to it being a children's fantasy book. The characters were likeable and interesting and I found the plot to generally be a good pace. A great book and I want to read more of Tolkien's work.
