At first I found this book trite. Laurel was so immature. She made really poor choices that made me want to throw things at her. But as I persevered through the high schools antics, bad language, and worse, something underlying and beautiful appeared. Laurel overcame the self-destructing behavior and along the way she and her friends became something more. It was a powerful message of love, friendship, and understanding. This was the biggest slog fest ever. A non story that went on and on and on!
I actually like the idea of a book told through a diary as a format being a fan of Go Ask Alice so I thought this might be just as good. Wrong!

There were points in this book where I just wanted to keep on reading and not put it down; I needed to find answers. There were also points that had me rolling my eyes and questioning if I wanted to carry on. The premise is a good one, interesting. Generally I liked the characters, and enjoyed their interactions, they seemed believable. Though, other times they just seemed forced and the wording felt off.
