Those Odd Sisters make a third appearance and I'm really liking how they tie each story together, though they can still be read separately.
I really like the twist that Ursula is Triton's sister. Seeing Triton as the villain behind the villain was a shock, as I have only ever seen him as the loving father. I can understand why his treatment of Ursula would send her on her path to revenge. However, Ursula's reluctance to harm Ariel's mother because of her kindness was a surprise. It seems so out ...more

Interesting take on Ursala and The Little Mermaid. We meet Ursala before she becomes a villain and get her back story. These books should be read in order as the odd sisters tale seems to be followed through each of the books on top of or part of the retellings of each story.

Definitely didn't enjoy this as much as the first in the series. I skipped the second; perhaps if I go back and read that I will appreciate this book more.

Probably best to read these in order. I caught on, but it was a bit of a pain longer than it should have been. And before you ask, yes, I'm familiar with the movies involved. It's just a lot of backstory and a lot to keep straight.
