A pretty meh rendition of Aladdin. I think it was great to see a twisted story/plot and I loved seeing a new angle. There were some things that didn't jive with the rest of the story like the undead army. Zombies just didn't have a place in this story for me. Jafar's regime was pretty Nazi-esque and a total dictatorship which wasn't a surprise. Glad they still got their happy ending.

An interesting twist on the classic Aladdin story. Robin Williams role as the genie spoiled me, so I was a bit disappointed that genie was more serious in this story. I still enjoyed the new twist in the classic story.

While I enjoyed Aladdin (the movie), I honestly adored the dark twists that this book brought! It included Jafar maintaining his grasp of the lamp (instead of being stolen by Abu before the jaw of the sand lion closed).
Yes, some scenes were very similar to the scenes in the film. But the unique moments transformed the story entirely, and it was extremely enjoyable.
