⭐ Will never be a miss. Will always be amazing. All the stars ⭐
This is my third time reading this book (not counting the times I go back and read chunks for reference, etc) and each time I feel like I get something new out of the book.
This time I realized how much this story could easily have been a stand alone and feels very much like a prequel.

After sitting on my TBR shelf for years, and being picked up in the last few months a half a dozen times just to be set back down after the first chapter or two being read.. I finally sat and read the whole thing, devoured it even. It's pretty great and I could see why people would compare it to Beauty and the Beast, at least once I've finished it. Until you get around 200 or so pages in thouogh it's kind of slow going. I think what kept me enticed was Feyre. I really enjoyed her as a character ...more

This is one of the better YA books I've read (although I don't think it felt very YA)- it has a strong fairytale element and the chemistry between the two main characters is strong. I liked the world too. I'm glad my niece wanted me to read it. ...more

This was a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, which I didn't know before I started it though it was pretty obvious early on in the story. I love fairy-tale retellings, especially when they have new and unique twists to them - which this one did.

I loved all the characters! Feyre was brave and strong, yet so sweet with the way she cared for her family (even when they didn't seem to appreciate it). Tamlin sounded fierce, he definitely wasn't someone you'd want to cross. I also really liked Lucien, ...more

I was that person who did not read fantasy novels. But over the last few years I have enjoyed escaping into their magical worlds.
This one was one such.

I thought the world it created was brilliant and it kept me engrossed.

The story of Prythian was fascinating without overwhelming detail and that I liked.

Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

3.5 stars. Good book, not amazing and I think having heard certain things about the series took away from some of the story for me. Also that riddle was so painfully simple I found it hard to believe that our heroine couldn't figure it out.
For the most part though I liked the characters. Feyre is a strange name but I liked her strength and her determination to survive. Tamlin made for an interesting Fae with his stone heart. I love Lucien, he has so much attitude and I hope to see more of him in ...more
