Great premise but rather disjointed narrative of a post-pandemic New York (world) found the protagonist to be a rather frustrating individual veering between taking charge of her life and making tough decisions and just going with expectations
Some of it a bit ridiculous- I don’t know many pregnant women on a food ration who would be climbing 32 flights of stairs regularly when the lifts failed.
Ending was abrupt

I found this book very thought-provoking. It's a post-apocalyptic novel that takes a long look at the process of change in society rather than focusing on the the crazy present. It spent plenty of time on the narrator's back-story as well. I especially appreciated all of the details of her work in international publishing - fascinating!
