OK, I was today years old when I found out that this book was based on a historical tragedy, the sixties scoop, that's still ongoing.
The author based it off of the Sixties Scoop that happened in Canada where Indigenous children were stolen from their families to be taken into foster care and raised in white households to become "more white".
I am in no way trying to incorporate the story but I'd love to point out that the main reason why this is deemed problematic is because he tried to sugarcoat ...more

AAAAAAH
It's 1:43 am now, as I start this review, and unfortunately I cannot scream my happiness at this book for fear of waking my slumbering family ... and being yelled up for staying up so late reading this. fudging. amazing. book.
Therefore, before I managed to gain the ability to form coherent thoughts, I was lying in bed, clutching this book, and squeaking. I couldn't keep completely silent.
I loved Linus and Arthur
And . the . children!!!! I loved Lucy's dark sense of humour and the endearing ...more
