I am impressed. It took me a while to get into this book, but as it went on and the pieces fell into place, I was gripped, surprised, and satisfied by the experience as a whole.

Last book of 2020 and what a great way to end! I highly suggest this book to EVERYONE! The author is a fantastic writer that pulls from her own experience into the writing the novel.

Also, she does a Q & A with her editor at the end of the audiobook. I highly suggest listening to that because it is super interesting!

I read it for the Goodreads' Book Club Diversity in All Forms! If you'd like to participate in the discussion here is the link: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

The author seems to put forth what is an interesting and very real scenario-parents approaching their children's disabilities in different ways. The problem, however, is that she sprinkles in many ableist ideas and really does nothing to address them. In listening to ...more

One day the tank catches fire and explodes; killing two kids with disabilities and one mother. The book begins during the court trial and you’re introduced to the various cast of characters where everyone has secrets to hide and anyone could’ve set the fire. I was really excited t
