I really didn't know how to approach the writing of this review. My normal method would be to provide a short summary and then my thoughts. There are, however, too many scenes which captivated this reader. A scene which seems contrived or extraneous will later weave into another scene of greater importance. I lost interest after the first couple pages...I will try again later.

As much as it pains me to like anything so popular, this is really an amazing book. It kinda dragged a bit for me at the beginning, but I realized that's because he was setting everything up. All the exposition comes later. The title of the first book is "Recalled to Life." And you can see that theme repeating itself over and over as so many characters experience being "recalled to life", especially Sydney Carton, which was just beautiful.
