We read this book to learn more about Antarctica. However, this book actually had very little to do with Antarctica and I didn't learn anything about it. This book talked more about family dynamics. Finding the comfort of others online and outside your family and severe anxiety. This book had great meaning behind it and good m ...more

Solid four stars. This book was irresistibly enjoyable and quirky. Written in the form of emails, faxes, letters and interspersed with chapters narrated by Bernadette's daughter Bee, the first couple of chapters catch you off guard because you're not quite sure what is going on, or how the story described on the book jacket is actually going to occur in this format; however, by 40 pages in, I was hooked and in love with protagonist Bernadette Fox, an original and intensely memorable and likable ...more
