If you liked Will Grayson, Will Grayson, you will like this. (and visa versa)

If you like stereotypical YA story lines and plot mechanics, you will like this.

I enjoyed this short book about teenaged angst and the perils of protecting the status of your sexuality in high school. The plot was well done, and, even though it had lots of similarities to other angsty high school YA books, it had some refreshing uniqueness.

If you enjoy any of the things I mentioned above, I feel like I can be bold and g

"But I’m tired of coming out. All I ever do is come out. I try not to change, but I keep changing, in all these tiny ways. I get a girlfriend. I have a beer. And every freaking time, I have to reintroduce myself to the universe all over again."
Okaaaaay. This was so good. I have to admit I have watched the film first before I read this. Oops. But let me tell you, despite knowing how it eventually ends, reading this was a million times better.

I remember watching the film opening weeken

Simon is one of those characters you can't help but root for. The high school theater scene was on point. Nostalgia city.

P.s. FINALLY someone understands my love of Oreos.

Probably the cuddliest ya contemporary I've ever read. That's the first word that came to mind when thinking about this book: cuddly. It's just an all around feel good book.

I didn't know parts of this took place in Atlanta, Georgia and it was just nice being able to to know exactly where these characters were hanging out, having been to these places myself. It really made me feel like I was another part of Simon's group.

Since there's a movie being made for this I was already spoiled about who Bl

This book wasn't so much a great book as it is an important addition to young adult literature. A modern coming of age tale about Simon Spier, a high school junior who deals with every day issues like drama within friendships, busy schedules, overinvolved parents, sibling relationships, and oh, yeah, he's gay, not quite ready to come out, and is being kind of blackmailed about it by a kid who may be the least expected bully ever. There is a sweetness to this story about finding yourself, the bon ...more

This is a well-written teen book. I'm an adult and loved it. There are many great characters. The lead is easy to love and understand. It ends in an uplifting way and doesn't get too down during any part. Nothing felt too cliché to me either. I recommend it.

How freaking adorable was this book? I am not normally a fan of YA, but this can be an exception. I hate mushy family friendly Disney-esque books, but something about the sweetness of Simon and his family was so charming I couldn't help but love them.

To be fair, this isn't the sort of hard-hitting deep thinker literary people worship, most people probably guess Blue's identity well before it was revealed, but I don't think that matters. A light, fun read is exactly what you need sometimes, and

It was hard to put this book down. You can’t help becoming invested in the story and wanting to learn the outcome.

It was okay. I'd say 3.5 stars. It was VERY high school lol. And also kind of crazy how it dated so fast. ...more

I listened to this book on audio and LOVED it!! it went by super quick! Sometimes when I'm reading YA stories I have to remember younger lex and how I felt and thought about things. All in all this was a great story and I can't wait to see the movie!

It is a light white privilege tale of a suburb boy coming out to his friends and family.
If I were a teen I might have given this more. Pretty fluffy stuff here, but it is a cute tale.
