A very dark, informative piece of American history.

This is a masterfully written book about diabolical evil and savage injustice visited on the Osage tribe by the white majority. It is also an enlightening look at the early days of the FBI and the people who ran it (hint with current implications: don't mess with the FBI). It's also enlightening to read about Grann's process in writing the book--the research involved seems breathtaking in its scope.
