What Members Thought

Forty-nine pages on my Kindle, to read a essay that every woman I know is talking about. Why is this so important to read now? Because the gender gap is alive and well in America. Women are still getting paid less then our male counterparts for the same job.
I personally have some experience in this in my work, my male partner was doing the exact hours and job that I was and getting paid $1,000 more a month. When I questioned this, I was told that it was because he was supporting a family. (Uh ...more

I guess I am and have always been a feminist!

I loved this because the author has heard all the stereotypes against feminism that all feminists hear. so short and relevant. also almost everything she said about how women are treated could apply to people of color. and she gave great examples.
i especially liked the example she gave of her male friend's eyes being opened. he was not a sexist but he wasn't a feminist either. he didn't actively fight or protest the way things are until it was pointed out to him.
kinda like how if there are two of us at the customer service desk if one is a male the customer will 99.99% of the time ask the man the ...more
