Sometimes it isn’t easy to write a review of a novel that is always one of the first to come to mind when someone asks what is my favorite book of all-time favorite. Shelves: humor, historical-fiction, classic
It took me two tries, but I ended up enjoying this comic-tragic novel that mixes humor with the horrors of war, sometimes on the same page. Here is my full review, including why I set it down halfway through the first time and my sometimes conflicted thoughts by the end:
