The end is drawing near and soon the fight with Gaea will end, even if the demigods don't emerge victorious. Nico, Reyna and Coach Hedge must reach Camp Half-Blood with the Athena Parthenos to restore peace before the Romans, who have laid siege, destroy the camp. Meanwhile, the seven continue their travels on the Argo II and hope to reach Athens before August 1st when Gaea is due to rise. But with the gods split and monsters running rampant their strength and unity will be tested like never before.

This was the second book in a row I've finished that was a perfect ending to a series. Finishing this book felt like such an important moment after looking back and thinking about the journey throughout all of the past books, whether Heroes of Olympus or Percy Jackson and Olympians. While reading this book I couldn't stop thinking about the characters and how badly I wish I could meet them! If I could choose to meet any book characters, the seven would definitely be near, if not at, the top of my list.

“The rivalry ends here," Percy said. "I love you, Wise Girl.”

One thing I was struck by in this book that I must have missed out on in the others in this series was the diversity of the characters. From Latino and Canadian to Italian, Cherokee and more, Rick Riordan makes it so that anyone reading can find themselves represented inside this series and I think that's just one of the reasons that these books are so special. The voices that are given to the gods are absolutely hilarious and it's so fun to imagine them as the rulers of the universe because it just seems so ridiculous. (view spoiler)

And last but not least, I loved how the seven thought of each other as a family, especially since some of them didn't have any mortal family left. There is no doubt that they formed a friendship that will last them forever. Thank you so much Rick Riordan!! This has been such an amazing journey and I'm eternally grateful. My HEART!! I loved this and I am so, so glad that I now FINALLY have closure with this series! I'm not going to lie, the beginning was a little slow for me, but the pace certainly picked up near the middle and definitely towards the end.
My heart ached for Nico throughout the entire book, and I am so proud of him for admitting his feelings for Percy--his character growth was the most noticeable for me. I, of course, loved the friendship between the Romans and Greeks and the wonderful endings tha ...more

oh my god i can’t believe it’s over :(

i miss them already

i loved this series so much omg i can only pray that the gang is mentioned in the trials of apollo because i cannot live without them omg

okay but one thing- WHERE WAS THE GROVER AND PERCY REUNION!! percy mentions grover like ones in this entire series, calls him his best friend and then goes and doesn’t even greet him again!! i missed grover so much omg :(

also sorry piper my g but i really wish it’d been percys pov at the end, like hes the ...more

Love it. I just finished this book again. There are many series in the Percy Jackson series in this order. Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Kane Chronicles, Heroes of Olympus, Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard, Trials of Apollo. The Trials of Apollo and Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard happen at the same time so you need to read them at the same time. But The Trials of Apollo is longer it and is still going on.
